Love never dies, because we never die. The physical body ends, but we continue as the energy of soul and spirit. We return to the same place from which we were born. Our energy returns to God. A state of unconditional love, acceptance and peace. This is what we call heaven. This is our real home. And love eventually welcomes every single one of us back home.

An Introduction

A gifted spiritual psychic medium from birth, Nikki spent 25 years as an LCSW, therapist in private practice and in hospice work. She eventually left her clinical career 10 years ago to do mediumship full time.

Known as The Mountain Top Medium, Nikki has offices based in both Northeast PA and the Chicago IL areas, working primarily from her Mountain Top studio.

For five years, Nikki lectured locally at Marywood University in Scranton about her gift, addressing misconceptions about mediumship, educating people and demonstrating her ability.

How it began

The move from therapist to medium

I never planned to work formally as a medium or leave my clinical work to do this. God clearly had other plans. I understood this with a lightening bolt of clarity one day early on, before I started doing mediumship formally. I approached a woman in her salon she co-owned, with a father figure who was heavy on me to talk to her. I asked if I may, and when she said yes and confirmed her dad was in spirit, I opened to him. He gave me his first name, described a history of severe abuse from him to her as a child, and wanted to apologize for his behavior which he was deeply regretful about. We hugged and with tears in her eyes she said, “Thank you, you’ve just done for me in 10 minutes what 10 years of therapy couldn’t do.”

As a therapist, this quite literally knocked the wind out of me. It was then that I recognized the value inherent to this work. It gave me the courage to leave my clinical career, something I’d been hesitant to do. I have been able to carve out my own niche as an experienced therapist specializing in grief work as well as being an evidential medium. Although I do not do clinical work at this time, I am able to bring the grief counseling aspect to my mediumship in a way that other mediums do not.

Remember that your loved ones in spirit are close by. As much as they are home in heaven with God now, they are still very much around you, because you too are their home and their heaven. They know how heavily grief weighs on your heart and they try their best from where they are to comfort you. They see you through their lens of love and immense pride in the person you are and the person you are becoming. They celebrate you just as you celebrate them.

They whisper softly, in a voice you won’t hear audibly but if you listen, you will feel: I live on and continue alongside all of you. I accompany you on the journey every day, lending you my strength, praying for you, and helping you as you walk your path. I sit next to you today, as I do every other day, and comfort you with my love.

Grieving Loss

Some Thoughts on Healing

As you navigate the world after a loss, you must continually give yourself grace. And then give yourself some more.

You are doing incredibly heavy inner work and some days will be much, much harder than others. It will look different from day to day. That is normal, and to be expected. Do not be hard on yourself. This is uncharted terrain, and you are doing the best you can as you navigate it. The amount of inner resolve and energy you have to give on any given day will vary, and that’s ok. Give yourself the same grace you would anyone else, and tend to your inner world as gently and lovingly as you can. If people don’t understand, that’s ok. That just means they have not yet met a grief as deep.

Time does not heal wounds, but it does soften them. Remember you are not alone, even though it can feel like it. Accept help when it is offered. Let people be there for you. Take the time you need. Your grief process and process of healing belong only to you. Give yourself grace.

Healing is found as we slowly keep momentum forward, putting one foot in front of the other. Knowing with certainty that while they may not be here physically, they are now around us in a different way. Still very present, still very loving, still close by. Present tense.
